Education

Education

The Batwa people around Bwindi have been struggling to access quality education despite the government adopting laws and policies to improve their livelihoods. it is found out that the school drop-out rate among the Batwa children stands at 58% due to discrimination from other ethnic children, sexual harassment , inadequate access to scholastic materials, lack of food for both breakfast and lunch and lack of school fees. Therefore BGBEF seeks to emphasize on building schools for the Batwa children, giving out sponsorships to the batwa children, giving them all necessary scholastic materials including lunch and breakfast and building permanent houses for them in order for them to remain and stay in school for better future.
